Wim Verlinde (Belgian Welding Institute) presented the AILEEN project during the Dutch Welding Symposium (01/10/2024).
The AILEEN project aims, on the one hand,
to establish competence centers (research/training) for Advanced Manufacturing (Additive Manufacturing – Welding – Brazing – Inspection),
specifically for the aerospace and defense sectors. On the other hand, this project also aims to provide potential new training and education
programs to meet the need for new skills that, in line with industrial expectations, should be developed.
The presentation briefly introduced the AILEEN project, but the main focus was on the current status of standards related to additive
manufacturing/welding/brazing/inspection for general applications, as well as for aerospace and defense applications.
Finally, the current opportunities for training/qualifications related to additive manufacturing (IAMQS) were presented!
Many thanks to NIL (Nederlands Instituut voor Lastechniek) for giving us this opportunity!
Stay tuned for more details about upcoming news about AILEEN!
