The AILEEN partners have been busy behind the scenes identifying skills and skills
provision gaps in the aerospace and defence industries across Europe.
Extensive
research has been carried out to understand the ecosystem and the opportunities for
Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVES) to support plugging skills gaps.
Here’s a sneak peek of the recommendations for how CoVES can support:
• Offer consultancy around current and future skills with a primary focus to supply training on the challenges faced;
• Formalise a core foundation of skills training and guide firms to adjust training to new, innovative activity;
• Prioritise helping industry to adopt skills in measuring the quality of additive manufacturing parts and design for additive manufacturing;
• Support firms to adopt skills in advanced welding process for aerospace, measuring quality of parts for aerospace and defence and automation of welding operations.
