The AILEEN project successfully united vocational education and training
(VET) trainers from Belgium, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey to drive
pedagogical innovation through transnational mobility. Centered around peer
learning, co-creation, capacity building, and experiential
learning, two strategically complementary mobility activities brought
together a total of 11 participating trainers. The first session took
place at ISQ in Portugal from January 13 to 16, 2026, focusing on
welding technologies, inspection practices, and modern training
methodologies through case study-based, peer-to-peer learning. The second
session was followed by a hands-on, workshop-based mobility program
dedicated to additive manufacturing technologies and their industrial
applications at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in the UK
from January 19 to 22, 2026.
By empowering teachers to share practices and benchmark methodologies
across national frameworks, these initiatives clearly demonstrated the
feasibility and immense value of transnational staff mobility. The
joint efforts directly contributed to transferring best practices,
strengthening cooperation among CoVEs, and aligning competence-based
training to build a highly skilled European workforce.
