In February, Sicnova hosted two intensive AILEEN pilot courses
in Jaén, Spain, delivering specialized expertise in 3D metrology and
aerospace certification.
Designed for a dynamic mix of local industry professionals and academic
researchers, the two complementary sessions combined robust theoretical
frameworks with practical, industry-focused application.
Metrology in Action: Hands-On 3D Scanning and Quality
Verification:
On February 25, 2026, a full-day (8-hour) face-to-face pilot course focused
on Metrology in Additive Manufacturing for Metals and Polymers (CU AI_02).
Attended by 11 participants, the training covered essential dimensional
inspection strategies, quality assurance methods, and defect
analysis.
The highlight of the course was its highly practical approach. Attendees
gained direct experience operating cutting-edge 3D scanning equipment and
applied precise measurement workflows to real-world industrial case studies.
Participants praised the session's practical focus and immediate
applicability to modern quality control environments.
Aerospace & Defence Standards: Navigating Qualification and
Certification:
Following the metrology session, Sicnova hosted the pilot course on
Qualification, Certification, and Standards for AM in Aerospace & Defence (CU
AAM_01) on February 26, 2026. Delivered in an 8-hour blended
format (combining online instruction with face-to-face workshops), the
course engaged participants with a strong baseline knowledge of advanced
manufacturing concepts.
The curriculum delivered a comprehensive overview of AM fundamentals,
quality systems, rigorous inspection protocols, and European
standardization pathways tailored specifically for high-value aerospace
and defense applications. Participants commended the course for bridging
complex regulatory requirements with practical industrial strategy, citing
its significant learning impact.
