AILEEN project partners convened on 29th and 30th April
in Ankara, Türkiye, for the sixth project meeting. The gathering
focused on celebrating key month 35 (M35) achievements, hosting targeted
technical sessions on project sustainability, and exploring real-world
aerospace applications through local industrial visits.
During the meeting, partners distinguished significant progress across work
packages, while featuring two dedicated technical sessions aimed at
ensuring long-term impact and practical implementation.
Complementing the indoor sessions, the team conducted hands-on technical
visits to two leading institutions shaping Türkiye’s advanced
manufacturing ecosystem:
• ODTÜ KATAMER (Kaynak Teknolojisi ve Tahribatsız Muayene
Merkezi): Partners gained valuable insights into modern training
methodologies for the next generation of engineers, focusing on advanced
welding technology and non-destructive testing (NDT).
• TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries): The team toured
state-of-the-art facilities to observe advanced production processes
applied firsthand by a regional leader in aircraft components and Unmanned
Aerial System (UAS) technologies.
This gathering perfectly illustrates AILEEN’s core mission: connecting
education, research, and industry across Europe to strengthen
regional innovation, build future-ready skills, and foster
long-term international collaboration.
