On 21 May 2026, Fraunhofer FIT hosted the second German AILEEN
national event, bringing together leading experts from industry,
research, and education to address the rapid digital transformation of
the aerospace sector. The gathering focused on how artificial
intelligence and advanced digital tools are shaping the future of
aerospace manufacturing, engineering, and workforce skill
requirements across Europe.
During the session, Yvonne J. from LZH Laser Akademie GmbH introduced
the AILEEN project and its core mission to bridge skill gaps and
drive innovation across the European aerospace ecosystem through
vocational excellence. The event featured actionable insights from experts
Tommy Nilsson, Maurice Günder, and Thomas Loosen, while an
interactive workshop led by Prof. Wolfgang Prinz offered thought-provoking
perspectives on the opportunities and challenges surrounding AI agents in
aerospace applications. Guided by moderators Lena Loske and Thomas
Loosen, the day’s discussions highlighted that connecting educational
frameworks directly with cutting-edge technology research is
essential for building a resilient, future-ready talent pipeline.
The German national event played a pivotal role in AILEEN’s broader EU
strategy, as establishing a European network of CoVEs relies on
connecting local expertise in advanced manufacturing and digital
technologies to strengthen innovation, skills, and
strategic collaboration across the continent.
