In June, the AILEEN project was represented by EWF at the
XXXIII International Welding Conference, organized by the Hungarian
Welding Society (Magyar Hegesztési Egyesület). AILEEN's strategic
vision for advancing workforce skills across the aerospace and
defence sectors through its network of Centres of Vocational Excellence
(CoVEs) was presented, featuring the following milestones:
• Qualification Harmonisation: Standardising skill
frameworks for cross-border recognition across the EU.
• Industry-Driven Training: Aligning vocational
education with modern manufacturing requirements.
• International Collaboration: Fostering
partnerships between education providers and industry
leaders.
• Dedicated Excellence Platform: Developing a
centralized hub for resource sharing and skills
tracking.
Discussions following the presentation emphasized that a unified European
strategy in advanced manufacturing is critical. As specialised
welding and fabrication technologies rapidly evolve, strategic workforce
development remains key to maintaining Europe's industrial
competitiveness.
